BIS Silver HUID Network Expands: What Buyers Should Check
BIS says India now has 341 silver assaying and hallmarking centres across 102 districts, with more than 77 lakh pieces hallmarked through the HUID system. Silver hallmarking remains voluntary, but every piece that is BIS hallmarked under the current system must carry a six-digit HUID that buyers can verify.
